Landscapes of The Dakota (USA – “Prairie Basin Region”) and the Gers (France) of the same size (9300 ha). The American landscape is perfectly readable: it is dominated by crops with some depressions resulting from the last glacial retreat, which are all refuges for blackbirds. The French landscape is much more complex with nested fields trees and housings. A perfect habitat mosaic for wood pigeons.
