Table 3.
Summary of cropping systems simulated with PheraSys, with and without non-parasitic weeds.
Cropping system | Modification relative to reference | Non-parastic weed density (plants/m2) | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
No weeds | With weeds | |||
Reference | R | See Table 2 | 0 | 10 |
Diversified rotation | SP | Spring pea after barley | 0 | 0.1 |
Mouldboard ploughing | MP | Ploughing before winter wheat | 0 | 5 |
No tillage | NT | No tillage before any crop | 0 | 100 |
Low density | LD | Sowing density of 40 seeds/m2 in OSR | 0 | 12 |
Delayed sowing | DS | All crop sowings delayed by 3 weeks | 0 | 5 |
Non-parasitic weed densities were estimated from prior simulations with the monospecific prototype AlomySys (Colbach, 2009; Colbach et al., 2010b) because the programming of the connection between the PheraSys and FlorSys softwares is still underway.
