Ratios of C18:3(n-6) /C18:2(n-6), C20:3(n-6) /C18:3(n-6); C22:6(n-3) /C22:5(n-3) and C20:4(n-6) /C20:3(n-6) are indicators of Δ6 desaturase; Elovl 5; Elovl 2 and Δ5 desaturase activities, respectively.
