Roles of tau and Aβ oligomers in AD. The tau-dependent pathway is associated to hyperphorylation and aggregation of tau-proteins inducing alterations of neuronal transportations and finally, neuronal death. The Aβ peptide-dependent pathway is associated to Aβ peptide production and toxic oligomer formation which alter synaptic functions. In a final step, Aβ peptide oligomers aggregate into amyloid plaques from oligomers which contribute to glial reaction and neuronal death.
Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.
Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
