Abstract
Today, various types of social movements propose new forms of relationships between producers and consumers. They specifically intend to criticize the role of delegation within market relations, that exclude consumers from some governance arenas. Some systems based on contractual mechanisms between consumers and producers aim at constructing of collective choices between producers and consumers about agriculture and food. They point out the capacity of alternative food networks to empower consumers in a more broadly political sense.
Key words: consumer / producer / food network
